Lowest 402 dyno #'s ever
Haven't posted in a while, been working on the house nonstop. Had time to bring my car to the local dyno shop the other day. They had a dyno jet dyno and the numbers were 520HP @5500RPM 513LB/FT torque @5200RPM. Air fuel ratio was around 12-1. Intake temp 88degrees. Belt started slipping after 5500RPM and dropped very slightly and held around 11LB of boost all the way to 6500RPM. Do the numbers seem low to anyone else? I think at 5500RPM w/a 402 and D1 Procharger, I think I should still have more HP and torque then this.
Mods, to the best of my memory, are as listed:
- SLP ZL 402 Iron Short Block
- LQ4 Heads
- Comp cams valve train
- D1 SC Procharger
- Cooks 1 7/8" Headers
- Mack Exhaust
- FMIC
- 218/224 114LSA Blower Cam
- 8 Rib Set Up
- SDCE Tensioner
- Curry 9" Rear 410 Spool
- LS6 Intake Manifold
- 60LB Injecters
- Aeromotive 1000HP Fuel Pump
- Aeromotive FPR
Car was dynoed w/air filter off. I do need a new belt, but the numbers still seem low to me. Having trouble getting my scanned dyno results into my post, if anyone can give some tips on that then I can get it up.
Thanks, Rich

I am tuning one of two things:
1) The tune is way, way off.
2) Low compression in 1 or more cylinders.
The 12:1 A/F is not too bad, but a bit lower is more optimal. Since you are seeing 11 psi of boost, you most likely do not have a boost leak from the intake and back. I would do a leak down test on the cylinders to make sure you do not have any bad rings. How was the motor broken in? Are you seeing any knock or misfires?

A few years back when I had a T-trim a Ford shop with a dyno jet got me 440 rwhp. I knew something was wrong so I went to another shop and got 575 rwhp, no changes to the car. ?????

Thanks for all the great replies.
As far as the tune goes, it was about 19degrees of timing. On the street the car feels strong, there are no driveability issues.
If the cam was degreed in wrong, would the car have some sort of idle issues or driveability issues?
And if there were low compression in 1 or 2 cylanders wouldn't I notice this driving the car? As far as I can tell, the car drives strong, doesn't stumble, but the tune could definitely be an issue. The car did blow a header gasket when on the dyno, maybe my high flow cat is too restrictive for the car.
The SLP block is a new block w/less then 4000miles on it, over 3000 over which were on a break in tune w/very little timing, so I'm not really sure where to go from here.
I'm still having trouble getting my scanned dyno results on here, if anyone can give me some tips on that then I can get it on here.
Thank you all again, Rich
