I sold my STS kit because it was busting silicone clamps and stuff off it seemed like everyday...

They can be worked out and be a very good kit, but it just takes time and work!

Bob, i've been meaning to ask you this for some time seeing that car's setup is damn near identical to mine except im running a turbonetics turbo. Did it have any oil issues after the turbo swap/ motor build up? Oil out the exhaust/intake side of the turbo is what im talking about, and how did you fix it?

Posted this same mantra a few times:
  1. Buy STS kit
  2. Throw out cold side piping, have new fabbed.
  3. Throw out hot-side piping, refab
  4. Throw out silicone connectors supplied, buy good ones
  5. Upgrade oil pump
  6. Ditch valve cover return, drill oil pan
  7. Upgrade wiring
  8. Toss worm-gear clamps and replace with t-clamps
  9. Upgrade turbo
  10. Build cage to support turbo out back, as exhaust hangers do a shitty job
  11. Install, and go nearly as fast as an APS car for 160% of the price!

I <3 my STS!

You have got to be kidding me right? I agree with a couple of the things on your list but not all of them. And go nearly as fast as an APS car??? HA HA HA HA have you ever driven or raced an APS Goat with you STS goat? Here is a video of me running an APS goat, me at 8.5psi and my old 60-1 turbo vs him at 9psi, tell me what you think, camera is in the APS car:

Jimmy, I should have quantified. I'm talking about ET/MPH. Comparably, my 11.30@134 is right there with APS cars. I was simply driving the point home that I upgraded EVERYTHING to get it there and had a ton of problems getting there. It could be the fact that I got a **** system from the previous owner, and the original install ended up in disaster. (I know we've discussed that on the other site.)

I'm talking to the drag racing "dig" crowd here. From a roll, forget it. High-power STS cars are damn near the best roll-racing setup there is, IMO. Get a driver who knows brake-boosting and how to row, game over for anyone in the opposite lane.

From a stop, the car's just not that great.

Im not sure about that vid His boost was dropping and toby cant drive. I know your car is quick but a good built aps will perform way better with alot less work. But GEETEEO has it right once you surpass that 500 hp mark some things become worthless on the STS. Plus to have it good for daly use STS with big motor require alot more detail.
