370 iron block build....few questions.
was looking at a solid roller 408 w/ a bunch of juice...
and now Im looking into a 370 iron block turbo setup.
OFI kit, want to retain ac, stock accessories, etc.
goals for the car.
bottom 9's street driven.
TH400, 9 inch w/ 3.50 gears.
however much hp/boost it takes to get the ET goal.
few questions about intake setups...are most people running a single plane? or a FAST? what about the GMPP carb setup with the intake elbows?
I want to have a setup with room to grow...is an S88 to big on a 370? I believe a few guys are running them on here....with some good numbers.
what would I have to upgrade out of the OFI kit?
for heads looking at 6.0L heads from WCCH
fuel system would be nates double pumper setup...not sure if this is big enough. and have yet to look at what size injectors...
sorry for so many questions...but search is being very finicky with me tonight.

sounds nice ohio's kits look amazing but im wasnt gonna take that chance with him and his recent problems i dont like the ideal of forking out 5500plus and have to wait 6 plus months on his kit. as far as intake ls6 has been proven or you can get a beck sheetmetal. you need to figure out what you want as far as hp and what not and match the turbo to everything give forceinductions a call .

I can wait...for the kit. we'll see though.
so the 90 isn't worth the 1000+ price tag then....good stuff.

I think S88 will work great with 370ci Mighty mouse is running 88 with 364ci and the car is freakin sick.
You'll need 18+psi to run those times but all will depends on race weight and wheather condetion when you run the car.
Dual pumps ,bigger Fule rails, 60lbs+ Injectors, return line and a couple of things.
Oh good thing you already have 9inch but I dont think 4.11 gears will work
You can check Hunter build 377Ci with Twin 60 the car made 1000+Rwhp and ran 9.0@158 with powerglide with 18psi sicka$$ car

yeah, the 9 inch would be sold for a midwest piece, spool, 3.50 gear, 35 axles, narrowed 8" total. and madman torque arm.
what compression are hunter, nasty, mighty running? 8.5 around there?
plan is to buy a pullout 6.0L motor, send the heads to WCCH, keep the coils, block, crank, clean up the block, hone it, and not sure on what rods/pistons yet.
for fuel system I was looking at the nasty nate stage 3 street, w/ the twin pumps 2 Walbro 340 intank fuel pump -8 feed, -6 return billet rails , versafueler and 96lb injectors that should give me a bit of room for more boost correct?
thanks

is an S91 overkill for this build?
reason for an S91, less boost, same hp, not working it so hard, more room to grow.
looks like overkill....what about the SX series Air Werks turbo's....those look very impressive!

Ok Chad, now we have a monetary platform to branch off of.
To reach the power you want requires some beefy parts..
You should run aftermarket thick deck castings for heads (AFR ETP Edelbrock etc.)
To run the boost safely and to gain the most power get the right heads... Dont try to run off of worked over 317 castings and put down 1k HP...
Heads will run you around 2500.00
A list of Items that you currently have would be nice as well.
Do you have the Tranny? Does it have a T-brake? What about TC.

I have it all priced out on excel....
instead of people worrying about the budget. can I get my question answered about the 91 vs 88 on the 370?
glad everyone cares about the budget though.
I have it under control.
thanks

If you go with the truck manifold kit you will save some cash, but loose the A/C? Just to give you an idea of what my setup cost, here is a little run down.
377ci. $5800.00. The parts are off the shelf, but did upgrade to Billet main caps with the dowel pins and a few other things.
AFR 225 $2200.00
$2500.00 fuel system
$1000.00 custom intercooler
blow off valve $250.00
2- wastegates $500.00
9in. $2200.00
$2500.00 PG Tranny to hold the power.
$1000.00 converter designed for turbo apps, and weight of the car.
$5000.00 labor to install turbo kit and fab intercooler tanks and fuel system.
Total $22,900.00
This is just a estimate also, some parts are more or less, just depends on what you purchase.
This dosn't include the small nit pick parts either!

I think you can meet your goal....except for possibly the "street driven" part.
You need to make an honest assessment on what you call streetable. To meet the ET goal will require a lot of boost. That creates a lot of heat. Combating heat is easy at the track (meth, etc.) Fighting the same issue on the STREET is different, as part-throttle when meth isn't kicking will allow the intake temps to rise to nasty levels unless the FMIC/ A2W, etc is properly engineered.
Trust me.....I learned from experience. At only 5PSI I had all kinds o' crap to keep my car "streetable" in the true sense of the word. But, if you're always adjusting things to keep it optimal on the street....how streetable is it?
Just my $0.02............

You're not in boost puttering about town....true...... but that little hair dryer is always heating the air to the engine. I agree, every setup is different, but I was just being a realist. For streetability, effective constant intake cooling has to be as high a priority as making big boost #'s. Just my $0.02
