Could I get away with 15psi?

With my current setup running 10:! CR, with straight methanol dual stage, do guys think it would be possible to get away with 15psi or do I definitley need to lower CR. I'm afraid if I go with 6.0L heads, it would lower it too far. Any input?

I think you will have a problem w/ 15#s and 10:1 cr but I'm no expert, maybe some one w/ 1st hand knowledge will chime in.

BTW why not mill the 317s to get to 9:3 or so?

With straight methanol I don't think you'll have a problem. 10.0/1 isn't that high, I'd go for it. Bob

I agree with Bob. Going with 6.0L heads would be better solution though. It really is not that hard to swap out the heads on LSx cars. Plus there are a lot of really good write ups on it. Check out www.ls1howto.com for a really good write up.

if you want to run meth all the time then you could do 10:1cr & 15psi, if you wanna run 93 only you'd need to be in the 8:5.1-8:8.1 CR range. TEA CNC'd my 6.0 heads to 79cc which is going to help alot in lowering the CR.

You'll be just fine running 15 psi intercooled with that compression and a pure methanol shot. Atomization is key with methanol injection systems and at your power level it's best to run two smaller nozzles to avoid using on elarger nozzle to support the engine.

Do you mean running the car on straight methanol no fuel or fuel and a Methanol injection? they are 2 totally different things

I have done it with 10.9:1 with pure meth and pump gas, the tune has to be conservative though.

Yea, I'm using 93 pump gas with pure methanol. I have dual stage if needed.

I was just afraid of going with 6.0L heads because I do not want my CR down around 9:1 or possibly lower. If anything maybe 9.5:1. Is there any gaskets I could get to lower around there?

My 4xx is 9.5.1 with patriot 72 cc heads its not a dog either out of boost NA for ***** and giggles the car put down 410 390 with a half tune! Plus cam and all that other ****!
