Mine doesn't have a delay

The TransGo -3 setup has a delay that I can do some work on and mostly eliminate, however there are some other quirks that pop up.

It opens up too much opportunity for a crossleak and a pressure leak IMO and this causes some of the issues. It also has a LONG restrictive circuit for 3rd gear and it makes too many changes to some of the stock circuits that are needed to kick shift valves "off".

Our "manual valve body" is a couple of minor VB mods and an electrical control that causes full manual operation.

Our transbrake does very little modification to the stock circuits. Pretty much minimal as you can do and still have an effective transbrake and firm shifts.
This is the key to it's success, reliability, effectiveness, and speed IMO.

Okay so someone clarify somthin for me.
A manual valve bodie or mvb makes the 80e FULL manual as in no overdrive???
Are there benifits to this??? Does that basically make it a 4 speed th400???

And can't you just downshift a regular 4l80e??? So what's would be the difffence??

You still have the overdrive. That's 4th gear.

If you don't have a pcm that will run the trans you have to spend $1000 on a controller that will run it.

Manual valve body means you have to physically shift it into and out of every gear. Put it in 3rd it will start in 3rd. Put it in 4th it will do that same thing. Some people get annoyed driving a mvb trans, but I have no issue with it.

A mvb is the perfect for people (like myself) who loved their 6 speed but had to go auto. Just think of it as no lift shift all of the time.

Sorry for the probably dumb question but I've been told by ppl that cannot down shift at speed with mvb or you risk damage to the trans ?

Depends on if it has an intermediate band or not. Even then, a gentle accelerating downshift is ok (to keep the sprag loaded).

I sure do love shifting, but turns out my computer does it exactly right every single time, and I can't compete with that.

One of the reasons I want to go Holley Dominator EFI and put in a 4L80E. For not much more than the standalone trans controller you get an ECU that will control the engine, trans, boost(in developement), nitrous, and meth.

So then I could downshift but it would have to be little to throttle when doing it?
Reason I ask is I building a rx7 with a 4.8/th350 and I'm unsure if I should go mvb
The car will be used mostly for dd and canyons

You can floor it then down shift, if built it'll handle it just fine
