ANy downside to having the PCV system under boost?
ANy downside to having the PCV system under boost? Quick question...
I know that ATI relocates the fresh air vent on the passenger side valve cover so that it does not see a boost condition, but what about the PCV? Could this be a potential problem, or is the valve only open under vacuum?

Re: ANy downside to having the PCV system under boost? You should add a check valve between the stock PCV valve and the inlet to the manifold. Stock valve was never meant to hold close against boost.
Without the valve, you have potential to pressurize the crankcase. It won't hurt you to run the PCV system though.

Re: ANy downside to having the PCV system under boost? Just a side note; I had a Grand National and when the boost would come up (23psi) it would do two things, hall *** and push the dipstick up.

You should add a check valve between the stock PCV valve and the inlet to the manifold. Stock valve was never meant to hold close against boost.
Without the valve, you have potential to pressurize the crankcase. It won't hurt you to run the PCV system though.

Re: ANy downside to having the PCV system under boost? do any of you guys run crank case evap. kits, for those who dont know, its where you weld a slotted fitting into the headers, and run a hose up to the crank case vent, and when the cars under power the exhaust accually sucks out the pressure
