Default F1A procharger question!

Hey guys...Ok so I have a shop working on my car it is a 408 low comp with 225cc AFR heads a custom cam and a F1A procharger with FMIC... So we had a pulley on there and we made 6lbs of boost ..We called up Bob over at EPP and had him send us a pully to make around 16lbs of boost with the setup I had and tried to dyno it and made the same amount of boost...The shop told me there are no leaks and the bypass valve they installed seems to be working .. The belt does not seem to be slipping ..They opened up the procharger and said everything looked fine .... I am not 100% sure with what all they did and what size pully they have on there now and I live a hour from the shop so cant keep running up there to check things out ..But they have had my car for over a month trying to find out why it wont make boost so I am just at the point to where I need to ask someone if they have any idea on why it wouldnt be making boost... Sorry for not giving many details I would just like to get some more ideas on things to tell them to check.. Thanx guys or any help you can give

First thing to do is to have them take the entire intercooler system and pressurize it to see if you have a boost leak. Bob

I agree, I would use the ProCharger race valve. Also, I'd try making a pull without the air filter to see if the filter is not too restrictive. We use a larger filter than the one that is supplied from ProCharger when shooting for a lot of boost. Bob

When I started out with my D1, the intake tube (Orange flexable on the backside of the Prochager) was collapsing and restricting my boost, had one made of steel, Problem fixed.......

boost leak test first like suggested. not just "looking" at the clamps to see if they are on correctly, you need to pressurize the system and listen for leaks.

i'd also try no filter like mentioned above. those are all cheap and easy things to try before you have to get invasive.

So today they got it to 13psi and belt ripped apart and they were putting on a new belt when I was talking to him and I told him about the filter might be cause flow problems, waiting for call back and see what happened with the filter totally off and the new belt on

Inquiring minds want to know? I was wondering the same thing.

The belt should not rip apart, unless something is out of alignment. Bob

Talked to him about 5 mins ago and said they are taking the adjustable rockerarms off and putting on a set of stock ones cause the boost is not holding past 4k RPM just drops off , He thinks the are getting stuck open and just blowing all the boost out the exhaust ..

Not a problem, the Fast 90mm intake has been a problem for a lot of boosted cars. I hope that the intake takes care of it for you. Bob
