????Wat??? PTK does a Front Mount Turbo... Right? and the Fake PTK kit is the 800$ ebay kit... This is a Squires Turbo Kit with a GT67 and a TRT FMIC... Fake i think not...

Actually i found out that my Ebay PTK is made by an X PTK employee =)

The PTK kit does not come from China. It comes from the same town that the PTK company was based from.

So i consider it a PTK kit since its made by the same people who designed it, just under a different name.

LOL, I was just giving you ****. I have been following your buildup, and really like it. I love following progress on anyones kit, gives me hope that mine will be done someday!

LOL... I get it.

and with all the **** i get for doing a rear mount turbo... im sensitive. im just a kid.. haha

I wasnt planning on it... a higher gear will do what,,(since it turboed) help with spool, because of the resistance...?

A higher gear will hurt you once turbocharged. Lower gear ratios = increased load on the engine (due to simple mechanical physics) which equals more exhaust energy to drive the turbine. Running a low gear ratio on a turbo car will spool the turbine faster and result in boost earlier in the RPM range. Believe it or not, this added FI power more than makes up for the shallower gear ratio = faster acceleration.

In short.....less gear = less lag. More gear = more lag/slower times.

Yea thats what i meant... I meant a higher gear... not a higher number...

But thanks schantin.. I guess ill plan on swapping gears.. Should i look into getting some new axles for the POS 10 bolt or is not even worth it?

You just added me on myspace, i believe... awesome. but yea i love the hood. and i want to get some 17x9 17x11 Firehawk wheels. I understand its not real. but im 19 and i bought this myself. Im gonna slowly work on making a beautiful clone.

**** man im only 20 i got my WS6 my self so just do what you want to it i know how it is money situation sucks but hey you still have a bad *** lookin car... my kit should be on soon to let me know ur numbers on the car n what u have done so i can see what to expect from mine

Well as an update... I talked to Mike (Street Racer) the guy i bought the car from. As he
is the one getting my trans rebuilt and he is giving me a Liberty Proshifted
transmission
.(I need the car back now, family stuff) and also that should help maintain
boost HORRAY!!!

yea i got pretty excited myself, thinking another hawk with a rearmount, but it's a sharp lookin car,

Well they got that the Liberty T56 installed and it wouldnt go into 1-4... so i got another(Stock) transmission put in.

I also got my springs.... injectors... gauge pod... coil springs (stock)... exhaust wrap... and the WS6 short stick... but it rubs console going into reverse... and it cut my boot. so that sucks... ill have to angle it myself...

Im headed home tomorrow at noon. for a couple weeks... Ill get the STS kit installed... not hooked up but installed. with the FMIC and everything... fuel pump... gauge pod and gauges. Ill take lots of pictures... so stay tuned.

dude, from what I have read, proshifted transmissions are really drag only.... I dont think that they have syncros....

also, you Firehawk guys are damn ****.... its just another F-body

glad to see your getting everything together. gotta a small problem for you though. I was at my storage unit and seen the dp sitting there. I thought I packed it in the big box with the rest of the exhaust. I will get it sent out tue. you should have it sat./mon. the 18th. sorry man I thought I had everything in there.

there are no instructions, I guess we never talked about that. it's pretty easy to install though. I highly suggest taking the pan off and getting a fitting welded on. I have one that I can send out with the dp. the kit came on the car when I bought it, but I did take it off and I'll help anyway I can bud.

again, sorry about the dp but I'll get it out tommorrow.

Well as an update... I drove the car home, 19hrs 1300 hours. Drove great... Recieved my kit and started installing it two days ago... I have pics... but my parents are still 56k, if that... took me an hour to get to this post... so ill add pics when i get back to school. but i have the hot side done...(fabbed, welded, wrapped, and coated) and started working on the cold side(mounting pipes, making room for the front mount). Ive been looking at pictures trying to figure out how to arrange all the pipes... most are obvious...
Im still waiting on the package...

Uhhhhhh, you wrote almost everything backwards.

it should read....

A higher gear will HELP you once turbocharged. Lower gear ratios = decreased load on the engine ( due to simple mechanical physics) which equals LESS exhuast energy to drive the turbine. Running a low gear ratio on a turbo car will spool the turbine SLOWER and result in boost LATER in the rpm range.

BTW, A lower gear ratio = a higher gear number....3.23's are higher the 4.10's, so the lower gear ration is 4.10. Less gear does equal less lag, but do not confuse gear ratio with gear number. A high gear is 3.00 and a low gear is 4.10.....as an example.
