Firehawk STS Build Thread.. MAS PROBLEMOS!!!!
I just bought an STS kit wtih a FMIC.
Im gonna start install in a couple of weeks so i figured i would get a thread going... I am going to be taking lots of pics and taking my time with the install doing.
I really want this to turn out perfect.
So everyday i work on it, ill take pictures, and im sure ill have questions.
Im gonna be ordering the new blue peak/hold prosport gauges.
Fuel pressure
Oil pressure
and im gonna setup an IAT senor at the throttle body.
i want to figure out a way to get a sensor to read Temp over ambient.
It will also have an LM1 wideband.
Please stay tuned, i am sure i will have questions.
If you have any advice or ideas to improve the kit, i would appreciate it.
THANKS IN ADVANCE

ALSO, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, remove the T-tap into the PCM wire, just use a butt-connector from home depot/lowes or some hardware store and put all 2 wires in it and kremp it.

I really liked EPP's write-up. but thats much farther than i plan on going... Ive been working on cars everyday since i was 14. and beside my father since i was 3. but this is my first turbo install on a Trans Am. I spent like 3 years and a lot of money on RX7's but a friend helped me find my was back to the right road in life.. haha.
I would love to do a forged block and built tranny and a moser and full suspension and a big fuel system and cooling and all that, but im going to school to be a pilot so about 50k a year is heading towards school.
ZL1 killa ive read through your build before.. learned alot
Trans Amcoupe i cant access those pics...
Zombie's threads have taught me alot and i will base alot of my modifications and upgrades on his "teachings"

This link might help ith your build too.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...fix+oil+return
BTW, the IAT sensor is going to read the intake air temp whether it's ambient (startup), below ambient (meth), or above ambient (FI). The key is adjusting the IAT timing threshold higher when tuning so that the PCM isnt pulling timing as quickly.
Good luck to you.

well, you didn't have to go 60# injectors.. you won't see but about 50% duty cycle if that. But if you have plans to go with heads and cam later go ahead.
who is tuning this car for you?

Yea ill definitely be adding more power. and when i do ill probably have to go to 96# but w/e. The next step for me will be a forged long block with heads and a cam. and i need a moser.
I found a place. EFI Alchemy, they are about an hour away in Jacksonville. I am thinking about going to them, Doc over there sounds like a nice guy.

I don't know whether or not we need the peak&hold injectors or the saturated injectors... I'm waiting on someone to find that out for me, but they can MAKE and SELL all kinds of injectors for ANY application
