Default APS Fbods with near stock 346ci, M6 - input needed

I'm looking into the kit and have done some searching, some oddball questions regarding driving & feel of the kits. I've seen dyno charts, reviews of the hardware, etc and they all point to the kit being a decent option when it comes to FBod turboing. However, I haven't found to much on how the kit drives & feels.

What's the boost like in 1st gear (stock rear end, 4.10, etc?), 2nd, etc..?

How is the cooling system affected? Stock rad with upgraded fans a good investment?

Are there any long term affects on the tranny?

Boost hits hard 1st gear, it climbs too fast with 3.73s to gauge it. Its boost and then shift to second.

Cooling is not an issue at all. The last one on the dyno rarely saw 220* engine temps, and was making 550~ rwhp.

Boost response is very nice and transient boost and boost recovery are excellent as well.

Better to have lower gears with a turbo then higher. I'd say ditch the 4.10's and go back to atleast stock gearing.

Default smokes tires

I've got 4.10 gears but not for long, the rear is going fast. Yes a direct result of the turbo's hp increase to 550 at the wheels. I roll it with first and part of second then I slam it to the floor, hang on and get ready to start shifting, 'cause it starts ripping. Tires spin through most of third but I'm starting to notice clutch slippage at full boost which is stock at 7.5 psi. The stock ls6 is calling UNCLE, time for a Texralia. Turbo, fuel system upgrade, rearend, clutch, guages, e-boost, forged lq9 bottom end. Where does it all end? It's all for a good time and bragging rights, right?

4:10's are gonna blow. I've always had a stock gear in my car. Best choice IMO.

We do reach full boost ( albeit on the gates) in 1st gear with a Nitto.

Stock 3.42's and a LS7 clutch. Drives great. Full boost around 2500-3000 rpm. If I hammer it the tires will just spin. If I roll into it I can get traction and accelerate like crazy. And with turbo's you do want lower gears to load up the turbo's. It will build boost better for you.

Stock rad and stock fan. Runs warmer than before the turbo's but stays constant. Only day I had trouble was a 95 deg day where it ran hot but did not overheat. I did discover the overflow hose had a crack in it though so that may have had something to do with my problem that day.

I have over 12k on my set-up since the install and no tranny issues. But it did have 89k on it when I put this all on. So it is gonna be due for a rebuild sometime soon. It has popped out of 3rd on me a few times. But not lately. So not sure how things are in there. I hope to get the trans rebuilt & a new rearend in the car next year. We'll see.

How many of you run 2 steps on yoru cars with sticky tires? Will that help for 1st gear boost? I was looking at 4.10's in the new 12 bolt, because with a 28" tire, it is right around 125 mph at the top of 4th, which is what I should be trapping I think. Should I just play it safe and do 3.73's?
