Default high(er) compression

would i run into problems boosting my car with lets say 11.xx:1 compression? i built my car for N/A but the thoughts of boost now sounds like alot of fun. are there some things to consider or just slap something on the car and see what she can do? all thoughts, input, and comments will be appreciated. im a newbie in this area..

Check this APS Firehawk that has 11/1 compression.

We initially built the engine for N/A, then the next year the customer wanted to add boost. Bob

383, 402 or 408? What heads' cc?

You can drop compression by changing heads or pistons.

no E85 here, that i know of. 383 CI. i dont really want to change the pistons cause everything has been soo balanced internally and its damn near perfect. out of the box AFR 205 heads, im thinking they are 66 cc, and by the way they are almost new... less than 5k miles on them and i dont want to use something else just yet.

IMO on any kind of pump gas 93/94 you will need some meth injection for sure. But with some VP Q/C 16 you should be able to get away with some moderate boost without any problems! The tune will have to be spot on and be very careful with timing!

you can get some bigger cc heads that will drop you CR a good bit and get a 5 layer mls gasket and copper spray that, it will drop a little more than just in case use some meth. you might end up with a overall CR of somewhere around 10.3
