Fuel System Problems - Please Help

I have a 94 Z28 and I have had some fuel system problems lately. I will go out to my car and try to start it, and sometimes it won't start. It has happened to me 3 times. I think that the fuel pump is going out because when it doesn't start, the fuel pressure gauge will show 0. Today I got it started by hitting the fuel pump a couple of times, but the fuel pressure was still only about 25 psi. So I think I am going to buy a new fuel pump, but I would like to hear from other people before I do. Which leads me to my next question. Will a stock fuel pump work or should I buy a walbro instead with the mods my car has which are listed below.

- Comp 305 cam
- Ported head and intake
- Roller rockers 1.7 ratio
- K&N CAI
- Pacesetter mids and y-pipe
- Flowmaster one-chamber
- 28.8 LS1 injectors
- Aeromotive AFPR
- TB Airfoil
- Mad Z28 Tune

I don't have any horsepower numbers on it because I have never had it dynoed.

Also the fuel gauge doesn't work right if that matters any.

I would go with an aftermarket pump. The price difference isn't much for the benefits, especially with your mods. also the injectors are only 28lbs at 60psi fuel prssure. if you are running 43.5 they are 23.5lbs.. is your tune set to 28lb injectors?

The previous owner was the one who installed the injectors. The fuel pressure is set at the stock lt1 pressure right now. What if I were to turn the pressure up to 60 psi? Would the injectors then be 28 lbs again. Also I don't know what the tuner set the injectors at, I told him that they were LS1 28.8 injectors.

I pulled the pump assembly out today, and what I saw was a walbro pump with no bucket on it. Now correct me if I am wrong but LT1 cars are supposed to have the bucket like the newer cars correct? If ths is the case, it could be the reason why the car would die/not start when I was low on gas.

Should I just leave it the way it is and always keep atleast half a tank in it or put a bucket back on it?
