Default What injectors should I buy?

I have a basicly stock 2002 ls1 in a camaro ss. I am adding PRC stage 2.5 5.3 heads, torquer v.3 cam, Fast 92/92 intake and throttle body. What injectors should I buy to upgrade from stock? I know most people with H/C/I go with the FMS 30lb injectors. Will these be enough or will they be close to being maxed out? Whats the next step up from these? I would guess FMS 42Lb injectors? Or is there something in between? I know the 30lb injectors end up being like 36 with the ls1 fuel pressure. What about the 42s?

well stock injectors for your car are the 28.8lb injectors rated at 43.5psi, which means they are 33.25lb/hr at our fuel pressure of 58psi.

The 30lb/hr which I'm guessing are rated at 43.5psi as most are, would be just a tad bigger, you can calculate the difference by simple doing so (percent difference)

30lb @ 43.5psi would be 34.64lb/hr @ 58psi

Now, what I would sudjest doing would be buying soem 37lb racetronix injectors (lucas/delphi) or any injector you want even RCENG (see my fuel and injector sticky) that is rated above 32lb/hr as that will leave you plenty of head room.

I would also sudjest u upgrade your fuel pump to a 255L/h such as the racetronix PnP kit they have. I have it and love it, you MUST use their wiring harness and it is pretty straight forward. Dropping the tank is not a big deal, I have done it 2 times on my car and several other cars, so people complaining about it can quit.

now that is the bomb-diggity!!! I would hop on that, as flow matched injectors are very nice and I would go ahead and get at least 37# or higher injectors

Could I run 42 lb injectors in a heads/cam/intake car with out them being too much? Is that something that can be handled in the tune?

well i dont know what heads you have in her..but 42lbs would be spot on for what you are going to neeed...your stock injectors will probably max at around 4K rpm...but that custom matched flow set ...damn good deal!!! wish i had found that before i bought mine!

Absolutely; they should be a breeze to get setup on your car.

Where do you get the 28.8 number @ 43.5 psi?
The factory pcm, has them listed around 28.8 for flow rate, which should be at the running pressure, not the normal 3 bar pressure that most are rated at.

Are these injectors a direct plug in for the ls1/ls6 engines?

You'll be fine with the stock fuel pump as long as you stay N/A with this set up. Also, take a look at the Lucas 42lb injectors, I use them all the time and we have them on sale for $289, and $329 for a flowmatched set, plenty in stock.

I would go with at least 36 lb but probably no more than 42. If you are staying NA and that's it then 36 should be fine but 42 will leave you a little more to play with should your plans change a little down the road.

FICINJECTORS, is that discount code you listed in your sig ls1teck or ls1tech?
