Default Best injector for ~430rwhp?

I Can get the SVO 30lb's for $240 shipped (new ones). Will this be enough of an injector, and/or are there better deals I should go for? Also, are these SVO injectors known to be good quality? Not sure who makes them...

Thanks!
Kevin

The SVO is the bosch design II, which are now discontinued, and replaced by the design III.

What kind of HP are you expecting? manual or auto?

I don't think that's enough injector for 430 RWHP. I don't remember exactly but I believe the calculation assumes 1/2lb of fuel per HP (FW I believe) and you don't want to exceed 80% duty cycle. With the SVO @ 58psi it would be about a 34.5 lb injector. The other issue is tuning the SVO injector in our cars. It's a different animal compared to the OEM injector. Do some research on the tuning forums regarding the SVO's in LSx cars.

I'm not trying to be rude but did you even read the post m8? It says right in the title ~430rwhp. And in my signature, which I made visible in the post, it shows I have an 01 Z06...and all Z06's are manual

tuning issues with the SVO 30's? Hmm, never heard of that before. Thanks for the tip kenp. Just fyi though I am having heads/cam installed and will have it dyno-tuned afterwars by one of the best shops around, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference...

The 30's will be right at the 80% duty cycle based on your information. I would opt for some Bosch Design III 36 lb/hr @ 3 bar injectors from FICINJECTORS. I think they still have these for $239.

Here's the calculation:

Thats sounds good and the price sounds good too. I'll either wait for their rep here to respond or check out their web page...

Edit: hmm, I see they have 30lb Bosch design 3's for $289, and 42lb design 3's for $239? Can't find any 36lb design 3's...

ok, so I am confused, should I be buying the 36lb (that looks like what 405hp_Z06 recommended above) or the 30lb injectors?

More questions:

1.) Are there tuning issues also with the Bosch 3's? My car will be having H/C installed and dyno-tuned after but I don't want to get an injector that will give my tuner a headache or cause tuning issues...

2.) What is the difference & pros and cons between the SVO 30's and these new Bosch 3's?

3.) what does "..@ 3 Bar" mean?

4,) So the ones you sell for $239 are used injectors but you rebuild them. Are they basically as good as new? Do they also carry the 3 year warranty?

The 30's will work for your power level, 36's will be good if you have any more serious mods planned in the future, without being hard to tune.

More questions:

1.) Are there tuning issues also with the Bosch 3's? My car will be having H/C installed and dyno-tuned after but I don't want to get an injector that will give my tuner a headache or cause tuning issues...

None at all, Your stock injectors are design III bosch.

2.) What is the difference & pros and cons between the SVO 30's and these new Bosch 3's?

SVO's are Bosch Design II's. They have been discontinued for 2 years now, they are noisy, and have a spray pattern more designed for a 4 valve engine. III's are very quiet, made for a 2v engine (stock in all LS1/6 engines) are more reliable, and are much faster.

3.) what does "..@ 3 Bar" mean?

3 bar is the fuel pressure. 3 bar = 43.5psi the LSx uses a 4 bar rail pressure or 58psi. An example of what that means for an injector choice, a 42lb injector will flow 46.5 in an LSx due to the increased pressure.

4,) So the ones you sell for $239 are used injectors but you rebuild them. Are they basically as good as new? Do they also carry the 3 year warranty?

They are in our rebuilt line, and most of our cores have 0 miles on them, and are pulled from brand new cars from overseas, then undergo our 11 step reconditioning process and have to meet our standards.

New injectors have no warranty. Our rebuilds have a 3 year no questions warranty, if anything happens, send it back, we will send a new one, no big deal.

Thanks for the replies. One final thing I am confused about is my stock injectors are 28.8lb and you are saying they are also Bosch 3's. So does it really make sense to buy the same injector @ 30lbs? it's only a 1.2 difference? From what I understand the SVO 30's actually flowed @ 36lb and thats why people would swap to those as its a significant difference.

Your stock injectors are 24lb @ 3 bar, @ the LSx 4 bar pressure they are 28.8

The 30's will flow 34.6
