The US people seem to call it a 420 as I mentioned, as apparently they say it flows 420lb/hr

Everywhere else in the world calls it an 044

Make sure which ever pump (or combination of pumps) you use is compatible with E-85.

well post 18 shows that a duel 044 only supports 609 on 45psi. that is far off from dave(mm) saying it will support 1400?

wth?

i am running a twin turbo system with e85. i am planning on 18 psi of boost. and want to run 255 in-tank. and duel 044 bosch in a sump style. i want to make1000 wheel power but maybe more. so will the three pumps support that?

That's 609 lph @ 45 psi. The more important spec is the 60 psi (a little over 4 bar) rating, the dual parallel 044's supports 580 lph. That's enough to support 1300 FWHP with 14% safety factor.

I might be missing something, but can you use this as an inline/in-tank pump, or is there a different model for the the in-tank pump.

The 040 is a specific in-tank version, with slightly lower performance.

The 044 visually appears to be an external, but can be used either external or internal.

Explain pull ?

Virtually no efi style pump sucks fuel. Thats why they must always be mounted where the pickup is naturally surrounded by fuel.
Whether thats gravity fed to an external pump, or with the pump mounted intank, at the lowest part of teh tank so the pickup is surrounded by fuel...doesnt matter.

MM mouted 3 Walbro's in tank...so I dont see why, other than overall length, mounting 2 044's in tank shouldnt be possible.

They will not fit in a 99 and up plastic tank/bucket....wayyyyy too big. Might be able to put them in a 98 steel tank.

When I say pull it is because it is mounted verticle in-tank and then is Pulled through the pump and up the lines... Is this not correct. I have a 99, and still use the bucket. If I have to I will sump the tank but would much rather not do that

The actual pumping section is always submerged in fuel, as its at the lowest part. The same as every efi pump needs to be.

So if you mount them above the tank, they will self prime ??

As I say...thats rare for efi pumps to do that.

Yes, as long as the pickup is in fuel -- now if you go and mount it any higher than a foot above the fuel level, a check valve on the outlet side of the pump is recommended.
