Default Dual intank on 3rd gen?

I read the sticky on the dual intake pump set for a 4th gen and is definetly what im going to be doing for my 91. Im sure the 4th gen pump set up is very similar to my 3rd gen but does anyone have any first hand experiance on this. Mainly the thing im wondering about is the fuel level sensor, lonnies site says it needs to be modified? thanks

We do modify the sender base not the gauge sender. The 3rd gen is very different from the 4th gen cars. We do offer it done if you like.

The hole in the 3rd gen tank is too small for the dual pumps to fit through.
I have built them, but it is very hard to install in pieces in the tank.

You can run a 4th gen tank, but the level sensor is incorrect.

What Nate is referring to is: I modify the fuel bucket (sender) on 4th gen tanks for the dual pumps, but the level sensor remains unmodified. It will have the incorrect values on a 3rd gen to make the gauge work properly.

If you want a 4th gen (LS1 plastic tank) modified for use in a 3rd gen, I can do a custom plug -n- play setup for you with the correct level sensor.

Please call me for more info as it is a custom setup, made specifically for your needs.

I did the two walbros in the tank. Its a pain in the *** to do because you have to put each pump in individually and assemble it in the tank because the hole in the tank is too small. If I had to do it again I would have probably just went with a good external pump and welded a pickup to the sending unit.

That is why we offer a conversion using a plastic 4th gen tank.

You get multiple benefits:
1. A plastic tank that does not rust.
2. The 3rd gens were prone to leak at the tank filler tube
3. Lighter weight
4. Modern replacement components
5. It goes right in with my custom wiring harness.

I have done many with excellent results.

I already have 2 brand new pumps sitting on my work bench... I can get a plastic tank. i run an autometer fuel gauge. What can you do for me...

My vote- Go with a plastic tank. I installed mine and is less awkward due to a seperate filler neck. Also it still looks factory. You will have to drill a hole for the filler neck to bolt to. Its easy.
