Default Correct Fuel System Setup???

Hey guys,

I'm doing a swap in my 90 Firebird. Im running an LQ4 with PRC 5.3's, custom grind cam, Fast 92/92 in it. The fuel tank isnt a returnless setup so I am using a regulator. I am running the following fuel parts;

90 Firebird Fuel tank and hard lines up to engine bay
Walbro 340 Fuel Pump for TTA's
Fast(or equivalent) fuel rails w/ #6AN Lines
Aeromotive 1000 Fuel Regulator

I have a diagram of what I think I need for my system, the arrows showing the direction of flow. Is this correct or should I run it a seperate way??

Thanks for the help!!!
Chris

The feed should go into 1 rail, through the crossover in the front, out the back to the FPR, then return to the tank.

Is this true on my setup?? I dont have a returnless setup like an LS1 F-Body. I dont know, and am still setting up the rail setup.

So, should it look something like this picture Ive attached?? Can anybody tell me why I should run it this way?

I had a Turbo V6 in this car before and the fuel system was routed like the previous, Im curious why it would be different.

Thanks alot for the help!!!

Yes, the second pic is how I would do the fuel system. I have read that you have less of a pressure drop across the injectors and have better volume when the regulator is mounted after the injectors. Not sure if this is true, but I read quite a bit on this before I did the fuel system on my car and I chose to put the regulator after all the injectors. I'm not saying one way is right and the other wrong, just what I have read and chose to do on my car.

How is the fuel going to the rails regulated? It doesnt seem like it would be the correct PSI going to the injectors.

What ever your regulator is set at will be the pressure at the injectors. The regulator still works in the same manner it was intended no matter if it's before the rails or after. I have no issues with my fuel system setup this way.

I dont want to start another thread so Ill ask in this one...

Does anybody know what fittings come with the FAST fuel rails?? I know the rail is a -8AN O-ring boss but what size line connects to the fittings? -6AN or 8?

I just dont want to waste $100 on fittings I dont need.
