What are the guidelines to when you need to upgrade to larger injectors? And what is the stock injector size?

I was always told when you go over 80% duty cycle you should upgrade the injectors. Theres a calculator at the bottom of the page here:
http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx

Basically if you want 450hp at the crank, you need atleast 32# injectors but the stockers are 26 or 28#. An MS4 with ls6 intake and exhaust is capable of about 400 at the crank(give or take). Which would put you a little over 80% duty on those stockers, my philosophy is you may as well go bigger if you plan on doing mods later. You will need a tune with the ms4 so you may as well have the tuner set them up. What are you ultimate goals??

But to answer you original question, you can run stockers but they will be a little about 90% duty.

ms4 gives u 400 at the crank? ive seen ms4's with like 415 -430 to the wheels, so i'd need new injectors cause my stock ones wouldnt be able to do that much?

i would get new injectors if i were you, pick up some used ones and throw them in when you do the cam swap then take it to the tunner and then your set.

If you try to max out the stockers and your in the middle of the tune, thats just an additonal cost as you will have to get bigger ones plus most tunner charge buy the hour so you will be spending more on the tune. do it once and do it right the first time.

If your interested i have a set of 42 pounders go for pretty cheap pm me if your interested.

U dont have too but it would be wise to. My t-rex cam only was 108% duty cycle and ran fine but injectors got hot. Just buy injectors like 42 lbs for peace of mind when you do it.

Sorry it took awhile for an answer. My numbers were 430/390 thru a moser 9". but the car ran 117mph at 6000DA so no complaints here.
