Default Racetronics with out the hotwire kit?

Is that possible to do, to run the racetronics fuel pump with out doing the hotwire kit. Forsome reason in my mind it is telling me not to do it.

Anydown side to not using the hotwore kit?

sure its possible, but I would recommend the hotwire kit hands down. A more powerful pump requires thicker gauge wire, there have been several people on this site that have had problems by skimping out on the hotwire kit to later on buy it. Do it right, it shouldn't be an option to buy it without.

You would be better off doing the hotwire kit w/o the pump. The current draw of any pump is too much for the stock wiring, much less the higher draw of the aftermarket pump.
Your mind is silly cheap, do it right the first time.

As said the wireing just is not sufficent for the added draw. I have seen connectors burn and pumps fried from not using it. I agree it should not be an option without it. Super easy to install.

Well i do have both already at the house. After talking with Mike from the WS6store he said it takes 15 minutes and click click and a screw and a nut and it is done so just do it. So i guess it was just my mind messing with me. Thank you guys for your feed back

If you don't want to do the hotwire kit at least replace the wire with a thicker wire to the fuel pump.

the contacts/connectors cannot take the current draw of the pump. I highly recommend the wiring kit from experience
