Did you change the pump when you added the controller? Pump could have been damaged from heat prior to adding the controller. Also I know aeromotive had a few pump problems a few years back. How old is the pump?

Torture test.. Can you touch the pump after it quits?
If not, refer to Sweet71's post.

well the pump is basically new like it only has only about 800 miles on it but its 6 years old so not that new i guess and yes i can touch it t is only slightly warm and im pretty sure the controller is working because if i turn it all the way down the engine will stall. im debating about purchasing a rebuild kit for it though i wanna make sure that thats te problem

Purplepeopleeater:

There could be several things going on here. Here is quick set of questions that will point us in the right direction.

1. How are you getting the fuel out of the tank (sump tank or pickup tube).
2. If you are using a pickup tube what size?
3. What size line are you feeding the pump with?
4. Are you running a pre-filter, if so what brand and micron rating?
5. Are you running a post-filter, if so what brand and micron rating?
6. Have you checked your filters to make sure they are clean?
7. Is the tank vented, if so what size vent?

The answers to these questions will lead us to fixing your issue.
