Bosch 44 pump question?
The 044, or indeed any pump will try and oeprate at teh pressure determined by the pressure regulator....hence the name.
If there is no restriction applied to the pump, then it will generate no pressure.
And an 044 maintains good flow to a little over 100psi before it starts to tail off. Walbro starts to fall flat after about 75psi.
And if you are needing in excess of 7-8bar pressure.....some area of the fuel system is lacking already.

It's not just the super high operating pressure. The higher pressure relief valve will cause greater output at moderate pressures. In alot of normal operating conditions, the pressure relief valve is partially open or just starting to open. This bleeds off fuel flow delivery. So with a higher pressure setting, it will be closed until very high pressures are reached.
It's the same principle as the W340 with the relief valve epoxied shut (XP+). Take a look at the flow charts and they show more output at normal operating pressures.
Granted with the 413 it's prolly only a little more flow, and the extra expense doesn't justify the purchase.
