Nice!!! Do you have any install pics? Also curious to see how far you can push this vs the 255

Hot fuel, line loss, elevated pressure, lower voltage, etc. will all reduce actual supported HP.
Are these approximated numbers for E85 or Gas?

No pics, but it was pretty simple. Key changes were:
1) Modify bucket - cut the section of the bottom out that held the venturi fill stuff. Makes a hole in bottom about 1.5 in diameter. Also, cut the middle divider thing out a little to fit the filter sock.
2) Modify wiring - cut walbro 255 wiring harness and put on new female blade connectors on + and - terminals.
3) Modify rubber pump holder - cut bottom 2 inches of rubber pump holder off to accept pumps larger bottom. Walbro 400 has a little larger base than 255, but it all fit back in nicely.
4) Replace fuel hose with hose supplied in installation kit.

That's about it! Will have some more fuel delivery data soon. Tuner and I will take a look at the injector duty cycle on Wednesday. Was at 95% before at 10 psi boost with the 255.

Yeah, it was pretty simple actually. I got the Racetronix Hot Wire Kit and Pump wires already. These were beefier than the ones supplied with the W400. Hated to snip the connector off, but needed to put the female blade connectors on to match up with the W400. Oh well, hopefully last time I have to get into the fuel tank, for a while.

Also, may not have good data by Wednesday. Just remembered that I got a rear knock sensor code on the car, so I think it may be pulling timing when in boost. Gotta get that fixed before I have some true reliable data. Just sayin, in case anyone is looking for meaningful data by Wednesday, it comes with this caveat. Will check again once the KS is fixed/replaced/repaired for true comparable results.

Will do.

2x262 pumps? Ummmmm, it'd be a little tight. Worst case, you cut the side of the bucket open and angle the bucket to the side to get it in and out, but it might actually work. If you tried that, you'd have to do a number of other changes/mods as well. Just thinking off the top of my head you'd have to get rid of the rubber pump holder stuff, maybe hollow out the bucket more, fit a merge Y, maybe go to new -8 AN line with fittings, run an additional hot wire kit and relay and everything too.

Thinking about all that, I think it would probably be easier/better to go with a proven setup through Lonnies.

So are you saying that the Walbro wires aren't as large as the external wires on the racetronix harness or the in-tank harness?

I emailed racetronix last night and they do not offer an in-tank harness for the 450. The walbro kit comes with the wires but I don't know what gauge they are. I think the Racetronix in-tank harness for the 255s comes with 14 gauge Teflon insulated wire.

We do not include a filter sock or wiring with our F90000267 pump b/c not everybody requires the same hardware. We have adjusted our price to reflect this. Customers can use our FPWK-017W harness kit to install the F90000267 pump but they will have to change one end of the in-tank harness (which is Teflon 14 Ga.) which has a standard Walbro-style GSS connector to the Delphi RCS-057 listed in our web store. We recommend the FFS-250G filter sock, FFT-150 fuel tube, OCLMP12.3 and OCLMP13.3 clamps for installation.

A few IMPORTANT notes worth mentioning here:

1. The factory return system / regulator can NOT handle the fuel volume of the F90000267 and F90000262 pumps so a rail-mounted regulator with -6 Teflon return line will be required. Running the system without this will cause a major pressure rise and premature pump failure.

2. This F90000267 and F90000262 pumps will not support the factory jet-pump system incorporated into the fuel module so holes will have to be made in the module. Disabling this system means that the bucket will not fill above tank level and b/c there is no baffling in the tank an adequate level of fuel will be require to prevent the pump from running dry esp under agressive driving which causes the fuel to slosh around in the tank.

If there is enough demand for this type of installation we will manufacture some in-tank harnesses. In the interim customers can specify this requirement in the note box when checking out with our shopping cart.

So is the wiring harness from the bulkhead on the top tank that snakes down around the tank fine to use as long as a hot wire is installed and you upgrade the bulk head and intank wiring and tubes?

Hoping you reply as I bought all the parts you recommend but just want to be sure.

Thanks
Dan

Ps I bought the car with hotwire installed so I'm not sure what all is replaced by the kit. Also it's a 98.
