Where exactly do you cut the trap door on a 98 fbody?

Yes, the location of the pump assembly in relation to where you make the cut should be about the same IIRC. Cut a small hole first about where you think it is and go from there.

Here's a pic of mine. When cutting you'll feel the cut off wheel have less tension when your thru. Just don't go to deep. You have about a quarter inch of clearance. Looked at the indentations in the metal. It will give you a idea where to cut. I cut mine more than others up by the seat for easy access to fuel line disconnects
