The fuel pump comes with full color instructions!

We also sell the fuel level senders:

http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.a...LS-F99&eq=&Tp=

Installation time will differ based on experience and method used. We always recommend dropping the tanks and cleaning it thoroughly before installing a new pump.

Got my Racetronix kit for my 1998, would I run into the sending unit issues or is mine a totally different setup for sending the fuel level?

I didn't see a new sending unit for '98s on the website, just curious. Sorry to hijack.

Are the instructions car specific or universal?

It took me longer to get the car up in the air and take the tire off than it did to install the new pump. The directions are step by step for your specific pump, and the kit came with EVERYTHING needed for the swap. Racetronix is the only way to go.

What about those hotwire kits? What are they for and is it needed?

I got the whole kit from racetronix, just did the wiring, everything works great with the stock pump. Now it's time for the racetronix pump install.

Very complete kit, easy to do, I'm very impressed.

I think you can still run the pump without the hot wire, but i believe the racetronix pump likes a little hire voltage and thats what the hot wire kit does cause it connects to the alternator. its worth getting i got it with mine and it installs easy just follow the directions plus there are several write ups on here on how to install a racetronix fuel pump and hot wire kit

if your gauge is reading wrong then it would be your sending unit, its common for the fingers on the sending unit to get brittle or corroded and not work properly. low fuel pressure in lines when car is shut off is common with age cause of the regulator, wouldn't worry about it to much unless its hard to start. but if your going into the tank might as well replace the sending unit, pump, filters and regulator. it can be done in 4 hours just depends how easily you can drop the exhaust out of the way to drop the tank if you go that route their are many members that cut a opening in the trunk to gain access to the pump from above and that would take you less time

from what i read you'll have to loosen the the bands that hold the tank so that it drops a couple of inches than you can feed the wire through for the hot wire kit.
