Default Anyone with an Edlebrock ProFlo with Two set of injectors?

Just thought id throw this out their, no one bullet had any pics, and not sure if anyone here as done it, but has anyone done a ProFlo with two sets of injectors?

We are placing a second set up pretty high in the runner, the rail will be same height as the top of the intake. Using a set of Fast Blank fuel rails up top machined to fit the injector vertical instead of the angle the stock rails sit at.

If anyone has, please some pics. If not, ill be sure to add picks this weekend when it gets done.

We are running 80lbs as the base injectors and Holley 120s up top, Using the Holley Dominator EFI.

What angle are you coming in at? Seems like it would have to be a bad one.

We moved them up that high to keep them vertical, i dont know the exact angle yet, he hasnt machined the manifold for the bungs yet.

What are you thinking Los?

Injectors are designed with a spray pattern. If you have it aimed wrong, I would imagine that it would **** up the atomization. Please note that I have no real world experience with multiple injector setups. Just thinking out loud.

I agree on the spray pattern, i/we dont really know either, but right at the top of the runner, where it breaks off the plenum and starts heading over to the port is where ours will be. I guess we will find out, lol. I tried finding info on it, and no one had any, so we just went with it.

Looked like some of becks later manifOlds had the injectors 90 degrees from the runners. SAMs car included. Didnt seem to be hurting them much?

There are multiple patterns for the spray. So a 90 deg cone pattern with a 90 deg mount near the top of the runner would make sense.
From what I've read, the NA engines mentioned above do it to allow more time for atomization of the fuel and cooling of the charge.
Those engines turn a lot of rpm and don't have the fuel introduced at the plenum entrance like a carb setup. So they don't get the same cooling effect of a carb. It makes a difference. The blow thru guys can run more boost than efi setups before they have to use some form of charge cooling.

JAX, I plan on doing this also.

I think MightyMouse ran dual injectors on his last build.

for a 2nd set, the angle shouldnt matter much, some have acutally had the injector pointing away from the valve. the thinking was that a secondary set is operating at a very fast air flow CFM and the fuel shooting back at the intake makes it atomize and cool better.

I personally would run it at whatever fits the best. think about alky nozzles, they atomize fine and are used as secondary fueling, and they are placed in a bunch of random/different spots.

I cruised by their last night to see the progress and we were talking about this, and we both agree, with the above statement, @WOT, the airflow should make the difference, that was mentioned in a thread of mine on bullet too.

when i walked in over their last night, he said, "Man, you should get you one of them Marcella intakes"

I about spit my drink out, lol. I asked if he had any idea what one of those cost, and he didnt, lol

Dont get me wrong, if i had that kind of money, i WOULD be all over one of those pieces of art!

He finally got started on them, needed a new bit for his mill. Anyway, this is what we came up with, As high up in the runner as possible for the second set.

Looks good. I hope they machined down the bosses on the inside ?

When the guy done my carb intake, he left the full boss protruding through the inside of the intake runners.

I'd consider a ProFLo myself, although I'd like the secondary injectors on the inside of the intake to keep them out of the way.
Should be room for a pair of rails and some shorties in there.

Thanks, yes, he machined them down, ill take plenty of pics on the inside when i pic them up. He machined the bung the shape of the runner if that makes sence, Their isnt anything protruding, smooth on the inside.

Here ya go guys... Just went and picked it up, did a quick mock up for pics then i cleaned it up and primered it up, gonna spray it and the rails satin black... Think we may have to Redo the brackets on top... Not sure how well they are going to work, its kind of pain to make sure the injectors go straight down in the bungs, we'll see though..

Thanks man, I bet i searched online for a whole month before i even posted a thread asking questions, since we didnt find anyone that had done it, we just winged it.

We are pretty happy with it so far, cant wait to use it, I spent the last few nights cleaning, priming and painting satin black, last night i started to clear coat it.
