Default 98 camaros with dual fuel pumps chime in

76mm turbo car 60# injectors, racetronix single 255 intank with the Hotwire kit. As of now stock lines and rails. I know people run pretty high HP on stock lines and rails, and I am looking to upgrade to dual pumps first and doing lines and rails later.

My questions are:

1) possible to run dual intanks on stock lines and rails?

2) do I HAVE to buy a kit, seeing as it's a 98 or can I just get another 255 and 'Y' it and wire into the other power wires, etc?

I've spoken to a few "sales people" and they seem to want to do just that. Sell sell sell. Buy this buy that and be out a thousand more dollars (and in some cases an extra 3+ weeks). So I'm asking the board on input on what you have run, and how.. I'm not trying to flame on any sales people so please don't think I am. I understand that's how they make money, I'm just not made of it so I'm trying to get a better understanding on why the 98 sucks so bad and ways around it without spending the extra grand.

Thanks guys. Sorry if this is yet another "damn my 98" thread lol

** Also should add I have 80# injectors and an 88mm turbo going on as soon as I get pumps to push it... **

Dual pumps are an easy thing to do. Dropping the tank is the hardest task or you can do an access door in the hatch area.

I have an access door from the racetronix single 255 with the Hotwire kit already so that will save me SOME time. 👍

I've got dual 450's in my '98. Tight fit but they'll go with some creativity.

Got some pics to show? Also did you change everything out like lines? What about the regulator?

I ran dual 255's in my 98 tank for about 2 years. Then upgraded to dual 340's from racetronix. Used factory lines for about a year but then ran a -8 for feed and used stock feed as return. You would definitely want a separate hotwire kit for the second pump or pick up a dual hotwire kit from Lonnie or somebody, I actually made my own.

Awesome. Good info!! So you just bought the basic f body dual kit and didn't have any issues with it being a 98? I talked to Lonnie and he said it's not s good idea and could burn out the bulk heads and probably wouldn't work.

For the extra $30 might as well just get the 680 IMO.. And just use a 'Y', use the stock feed for the return and go to a local hose type store for a decent feed and be ok?
Or should I mess with FPRs also?

Ordered everything but the line kit. Thank you!!

jmm98LS1- as far as your 'Y'/manifold and 90*, what fittings/components did you use? I really like that setup. Looks like it can save a lot of time and money!! I will be utilizing the stock feed for my return and running a new AN feed from a local store, and mimicking your fitting setup.

Thank you, everyone you've all been VERY helpful. But don't let this thread die! I am sure there is more knowledge to be shared here!!!

That's a 3-way air manifold from harbor freight that I drilled/tapped to 1/2"npt. It's connected to a npt male to -8 female fitting which is joined to a 90* -8 bulkhead. The rubber hoses are high pressure submersible with correct clamps. Been holding up great so far.

This is exactly how mine is setup. I bypassed all the stock wiring, even the grounds.

What rails are you guys running? I WAS trying to stay with the stock rails, but I imagine the crossover line from rail to rail would need modified to fit the bigger size.

Guess I can't keep the stock rails after all, huh?

You could use the stock rails and have the bigger line going into it with no y fittining. Stock rails from my understanding can handle a good amount of power however, people switched them out to be able to have more options with fittings and what not.
