So have a lq4 complete block. Stock except ls6 or ls9 lifters and 80lbs injectors for e85 running on the stock fuel rail.
idk if running on stock fuel rail is good or bad but it works lol.
also reason I post. I changed the oil last night and notices it didn't look like oil. It was over full by a few quarts and smelled like e85. It is possible that precious owner over filled it who knows. But it did smell like e85. Maybe I'm over Exaggerating as well idk.

just making sure it's not just me then. Xu it smelled bad. Idk how long it went with out an oil change tho. Currently using 10w40 oil tho. After I get it fully tuned I'm going to switch to 20w50 full syn

It shouldn't smell strongly like E85. Maybe faintly, but not strongly. If it's over full by a few quarts, you could have an injector stuck open and washing down a cylinder - and that's a bad thing. You'll never get it tuned, and you'll destroy the engine.
Change the oil, and carefully note the dipstick level. Let it run at idle for 20-30 minutes, and then sit long enough for the oil to drain back. Check to see if the oil level has risen. If it has, you have a bad injector.
Unless the engine is built for it specifically, 20W-50 oil is probably a bad idea. What's your oil pressure now with 10W-40?
