Low fuel pressure only while running

Default Low fuel pressure only while running

I am just getting an LS! swap with a mild cam running and It's cutting out. I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge at the rails and this is what I get,
60+ psi with the key in the run position (not running)
30 psi when the engine is running
I ran the pump straight off the battery with the same results. Any ideas?

Sounds like you need a new pump.

I thought so too so I disconnected the fuel line at the rail and pumped directly into a jug and it flows the 255 LPH that it's supposed to. wtf??

Even a weak pump will pump the volume at NO pressure, but as soon as it has to "work", pressure will fall off

Yeah, if it is rated to flow 255lph then that will be at like 43psi and free flowing it should flow more than that.

Looks like I'll be changing my fuel pump this weekend.

Well I changed the pump and filter/regulator today and nothing changed .still have 60 psi with key on (engine off) and 30 psi engine running. Any thoughts?

What gauge of wire to the pump? I'd check voltage drop at the pump with the engine running.

Thanks Rick I will check that tomorrow. I did run a hot wire off the battery but it didn't change anything.

Here is how I have the system plumbed and wired. The efi harness is a painless. I ran the pump directly off the battery and started the car but that didn't change anything. Since I was able to get full flow through the hose up to the rails I don't think there is an obstruction in the supply line. Today I will check the rails for blockage.
