Default fuel pump suggestions.

Hi. I've been looking through the threads... for a few hours. When i find a something that is similar to my search it is a ten year old thread. So don't bash
I have a D1SC system being delivered this week. I've gathered that i want to have 60 pound injectors. What i can't find is a suitable drop in pump for me. I plan on running 6-8 pounds of boost at the moment. Probably until i'm ready for a new engine. The car is a 02 ls1 full exhaust car. recommendations and links would be helpful.
Thanks.

Here is one option that should allow room for more boost in the future:

The Racetronix 255 pump and hotwire kit should cover you at that power level. Totally drop in plug and play. No cutting of fabbing of any sort

I'd go straight for a 340 or larger pump. The Walbro 400s are the way to go as long as they will fit your tank.

is this a direct replacement pump? from what i've been reading, the 255l pump would not hold up when i up the boost later on.

i'm sure he is correct, i'm not THAT GUY, who argues with more educated people while asking for advice Before I decided to abandon my nitrous build, I already purchased an lq4 complete engine, along with a ls6 that fell into my lap . A new set of advanced induction solution 232 heads. A torquer v3 cam, which i'm not sure i will be able to use. My point is when i get the engine together I would imagine i'll be over the 600hp when i turn up the boost. I would like a pump i can grow into. I'm just not educated/informed enough to make a correct purchase for my goals. Kind of only want to do it one time kind of thing, but i know i'll never have more than 800 hp. I'm realistic.

I think you are correct. After browsing the threads... i think i will outgrow the 255 rather quickly. One post i came across said the 340 pump would handle 700whp. I'm not sure if that was on factory fuel lines or not. I did see one the ws6store has that is 99-02 "direct drop in". I'm thinking that is the way to go for me. I'd have to upgrade to the c5 regulator kit. It is recommended on their site under the options tab. The other option is a ground upgrade kit.... Its only 12 dollars, but i can't find the purpose for it. My procharger kit has arrived. I want to do the fuel pump first before starting that install. I'd hate to do everything at once, then the car not run correct and i'll be stuck diagnosing EVERYTHING i did

That looks like a good selection.
It's a larger battery to chassis ground wire, probably to stabilize the voltage to the pump.
I think it is a good idea to install the pump first, have fun with the project.

Agree. Install the 99 Racetronix kit first to make sure it works as designed. Racetronix states it will take you to 600 rwhp.

If you upgrade to the 99 Racetronix 340 kit and C5 filter/regulator kit it will take you to 750 rwhp. The good thing about either Racetronix kit is that both come with an upgraded bulkhead connector that can handle 28 amps on each terminal compared to the stock bulkhead connector that can handle only 14 amps per terminal.

The RXP341 pump supplied with the upgrade 340 kit draws right at 14 amps (borderline). Larger capacity pumps require even more amps.

So IMO go with the Racetronix kits because of the upgraded bulkhead connector. Don't know about other vendor hot wire kits and if they include the upgraded bulkhead or if you build your own kit make sure to replace the connector (about $10).

Note: read the Racetronix product literature - it is all explained in detail - good stuff.

Our 340 kit will handle 750ish on stock lines and depending on the afr and charging system and fuel pressure about 800 to 850 otherwise.

Nothing against Racetronix but when it comes to service and tech support (directly and indirectly on forums like this one) the WS6Store is tops.

I've noticed ws6store on the forums often, and i've spoke to them here about other issues. I'll place my order Wednesday. Customer support was a major factor in my decision. Just a little feedback .

The optional battery to body ground cable kit upgrades the under-rated factory ground wire running from the battery to the chassis. It includes an 8 gauge copper wire fitted with terminals and battery nuts with accessory taps. This is one of the weak points in these fbody cars. Make sure when installing the cable at the chassis connection point that it is rust free so it makes good contact with the chassis metal.
