Default Seeking Octane Booster Recommendation

Not interested in going e85. Have a bored 6.0 making 11.8cr. No detonation, but wanting a little insurance and power increase. Any recommendations and why better than others? Thanks.

Can you get pump 93 around there? With pump 93, and a good tune, you won’t give up anything. You can creep the compression on up a tad without worry, as long as tune is solid and temps are under control. 11.8 is no problem for 93. Dynamic compression is what determines this actually. An internal combustion engine really doesn’t know or care what the static compression is. Camshaft timing events determine the fuel you need. That’s what controls cylinder pressure. I’m at 12.42 and run 93 pump exclusively.
Now if you can’t get 93, then that’s a different story.

93 is abundant. I'm aware of the dynamic compression but don't know how to figure it out. I get stuck on ? about block deck or some. Can't remember. Your response above is much appreciated.

The stuff, or at least most of it turns the plugs orange. Hence you can't read them.

I have used Torco in the past and it does hinder reading plugs. I did find that it effective. It is no replacement for race gas, but it does work as long as you are not asking too much from it.

Wallace racing calculators has the DCR calculator. You need to know the point your intake valve closes (not the .050 measurement but the .006 one). If you have aftermarket cam this number will usually be between 65 and 80 degrees. If you only have the .050 measurement say that is 45 then add like 28 degrees to get to 73 degrees and that will get you in ball park. Aftermarket cams usually have a ramp of 25 to 35 degrees from .050 to .006. The best is to get the .006. If you know the overall duration say 300 and say the .050 is like 240 then you have a ramp of 30 degrees (300-240=60 then divide by 2 = 30)

Go to SHerwin Williams paint store.
BUY 5 gallons each of Toluene, and Acetone.
Next, stop by the local airport, fill a couple 5 gallon cans with 100LowLead AvGas.
Toluene is 115 Octane.
Acetone is 130 Octane.
Here is an example of "Mixing Math"

30 Gallons x 90 Octane Pump gasoline: 2700
10 Gallons 100 Octane Avgas: 1000
5 Gallons 115 Octane Toluene: 575
5 Gallons 130 Octane Acetone: 650
.................... product of Octane x Volume 4925
Divide by total mixture volume ( 50 Gallons) = 98.5 Octane blend.
