Default Fuel Pressure ?

thinking about upgradeing the fuel pump on my Ls1, but I have a few ?s. I know bigger pumps create higher pressures, what does this do to tuning. Does the higher pressure make the car run a little rich or does the fuel system have a pressure regulator to keep a constant pressure at the injectors.

There is no tuning required. The FPR keeps it pretty close to normal operating settings.

since there is no fuel rail pressure sensor, if you have a higher rail pressure, the computer does not know it, and you will run rich.

However, its normally from 58 to maybe 62 psi, so its not a huge big deal with the ls1's weird fuel system (dropping pressure drop across the injector when you go wot)

Is there a FPR between the pump and the fuel rail?

yes, there is a regulator in the tank. It tries to keep a 58 psi pressure, but with a high flow pump, it might push through the regulator and go higher.

would a aftermarket FPR help keep a more consistent pressure? or would that be a waste of time and money.
