I searched the whole town for a 3/8 pipe tap and never could find one.
As far as the hose ends go, I had to buy 90's for them any way so I still spent the $25. I saw the fitting you are refering to, but didn't want to get stuck with the 90 being turned the wrong way. They didn't look to be adjustable, but if yours are full swivel, then I guess I just missed out.
