Question Siphonning gas

Hello.....

This may be a silly question, but I have a 02 SS and was wondering if gas can be siphonned from these cars? I heard they can't, but just want to get some opinions from the folks here. Gas prices the way they are, I don't want to start filling other folks tanks. I called Chevrolet and they don't sell locking gas caps for these cars and maybe there's a reason for this.

Thanks a bunch!

Just goto any auto parts store, they will have a locking gas cap for your car. And yes, you can siphon gas from these cars. I don't know why you could not.

I figured I'd try a couple of local auto parts stores. That was in the mix. Chevrolet does have locking caps for some cars just not the Camaro. I know these caps are special and need to have a good seal or you'll get an error code on the dash.

Thanks for the opinions! If there are more, shoot away. I'm curious if others have come across people stealing gas in their area from these newer Camaros.

I dont know if its possible without taking off the wheel or what on a 4th gen, but on my third gen I can disconnect the feed line thats right behind the driver side rear wheel, key on the fuel pump to get it started and then it will siphon it self...you might be able to do this at one of the fuel connections under the hood. Just a thought.

Just as I was told. Thank you all for the comments and suggestions. I don't want to siphon myself. I just don't want some thieves taking my gas is all. I found that Stant makes a locking cap for the car for about $15.

Regards

Saw a item onthe news the other day where now they just poke a hole in the bottom of the tank and drain away. Damm low lifes!, buy your own gas. If they want it bad enough they will figure out a way.
