Default Injector help....

I'm at the end of a real nice build. I'm looking at the fuel system and I had a question. The car is a 2000 C5, we are dropping in a 408, we are looking for 540 RWHP (on motor) and was wondering what injectors are reccomended? Will my stock fuel pump work, or do I need to upgrade that as well? The nitrous has a stand alone so that part is done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would upgrade the pump and use 60# Mototron injectors.

there is NO way 30 will work. 60# motron or Siemen deka injectors will do you good and at idle you will have enough airflow to use up the fuel the pump out without having to adjust them more than likely.

42# would probably work, but if you put out any more power they wouldn't...

so go with the 60# motron / siemen deka and don't look back

NO way 30's will work? Please don't let my car hear you... it's been running fine making 500+ through full exhaust... and has worked well enough to put 8 thousand miles on the car in the last 6 months.

I've also seen numerous cars put down 530+ on 30# SVO's... Goldrust made 565 to the tires with 30# SVO's... and i'd realistically put money down that the majority of ZO7 427 packages that have come out of MTI in the past have done it with 30# SVOs.

It has only become a very recent trend to put big injectors in these cars.

Charles, you really can't go wrong with any of those injector selections. If you have to go out and buy new injectors... I would personally recommend a set of flow-matched Bosch (SVO) 42# injectors, they are plenty for the combo and are a PROVEN injector that deliver both solid performance and driveability. If you already had a set of SVO 30's sitting around or could get a set for cheap... I'd go with those. If you are feeling spunky and want to go to a set of 60#s, then the Mototron injectors that Nate suggested are an excellent choice... I just personally don't see the need for the extra injector, but it really doesn't hinder the setup in any way.

I also agree with Nate on his suggestion of a new fuel pump.

Charlie I had 36lb`ers on my c-5 and ran out of injector at 444 rwhp and just went with motron #60 and they tuned fine. I am in the process of replacing my fuel pump because now I am up to 460 and fuel is to close to chance. If your going to be at 540 your gonna need more fuel and I cant see how a #30 could possibly work. Good luck

i would suggest 42 lbers or the motron 60 lbers also.i've heard even the 60 lbers are easy to tune.

if you know what you are doing, any injector is easy to tune for (also generally speaking)
