Default Car ran out of gas? Hard time to start it

I think my car ran out of gas i was stuck at the stop light waiting to pull into the gas station and i felt my car sputtering. i had to keep my foot on the gas to keep it on. I just made it to the gas pump when it turned off. Well after cranking it for a while it turned on but i still had to keep my foot on the gas to keep it on. could it be my fuel pump even though it still turns on? The car just got and over the mail tune. Its stroked out and the mods in my sig have all been done recently i have never got the car to run good that was the first time i took it out to go put gas. Would appreciate yalls help. Thanks in advance

Is this pump new? Do you have a habit of running the car low, maybe not extremely low like this but 1/4 or less a lot of the time? You could have overheated the pump and caused it to partially fail

yup the pump is new not even 30 miles on it. that was the first time it went low. I was too busy looking at the temp and oil pressure gauges, being that the motor was just built.

did you turn the key to on for a few seconds then back to off a few times to prime the fuel system back up, before you initially tried to start it? you said the car didnt run well before the tune? if so, with the new mail order tune how did the car run on the way to the gas station before you ran out of gas?

tune or pump is bad but in my opinion i have heard that the pumps are notorious bout goin out when u run out of gas with pump on an it over heats, check pump first!!

I checked the fuel pressure at the rail and its at like 69psi. I changed my regulator with a used one i bought from someone on here and still reading 69psi. If i am reading that i think my pump should be ok, right? I checked to see if the return line was allowing flow back to the fpr and it does. As of right now i have not clue to what it is unless it could be another bad fpr.

I say NEVER let it get below 1/4 tank...for many reasons...cools the pump...and what happens if you are stuck in traffic for 2 hours or something.....just some GOOD Advice. Possible your pump overheated.

Really don't know--junk in injectors.???? sucked up in last bit of gas..small enough to get by the pump/sock...big enough to clog injectors....I am just suggesting/guessing man...

My next step was to remove injectors and send them out to get cleaned. Still puzzels me on the pressure.
