I have had no problem with my 8.8, it has a spool and 33-spline axles, c-clip eliminators, 1350 yoke and lower control arm relocation brackets. For me, Its as light as are lighter than a 12-bolt and it does use less hp and almost as strong as a 9-inch. I hope to go some low 9s-high 8s this year with it.

I got my 8.8 from a guy on this site back in 2004. Checking my records, his name was Crag Howington of Extreme Chassis down in Fort Woth Tx. Its a made to order bolt in 8.8. I think he had a jig, 8.8 center with the 10 bolt tubes pressed and welded in. I got one of the last ones before he went under. With the Moser spool, 33-spline axles,3" studs, c-clip eliminators 1350 yoke, relocation brackets and a TA girdle it cost $2140. I used to have a few pics of a F-body 8.8 out of car, I'm looking for them.

The 8.8 is a very solid and strong rear end and no they don't break under stock mustang power. It takes quite a bit of power to break an 8.8 and thats in stock form. Do some small upgrades to one and they are almost as strong as a 9 inch without the weight and the parasitic loss. I use to be a fox body guy and have quite a bit of experience with 8.8 rears. I know of plenty of cars making 500-700 hp on a 8.8 and the only upgrades they usually did was 31 or 33 spline axles. If one can be had for a good price that will bolt into a Fbody then its a very good upgrade over the wimpy 10 bolt.

Finally got the two 8.8 pics to post. I think this is one of Extreme Chassis first 8.8s, they later changed the round tube torque arm support to rear mount to square tube which is stronger.

DarkFormula any reason you are using torque arm and not the four link bars that the rearend you bought had in original for sale post.

That's where I got mine too, back in 2003 I believe. $1,850 delivered to my door. Craig is out of business now for a few years. Not sure what happened. I cut the legs off my stock 3.42 10 bolt and shipped them to Craig and he welded them up. I've raced at the drags with 28" Hoosier slicks and the car has been my daily driver all these years (other than the few times it was down for new motors, hahaha). Uses the stock Torque Arm in my configuration. I have an adjustable (Random Technology) Torque Arm to install soon.

Yes, my 8.8/10 bolt hydrid uses the stock length driveshaft although you need the 8.8 yoke on the back of it with the special crossover U-Joint.

Can anyone get a hold of this guy who built these? I'd like to see if he has diagrams on the TA mounts, that's the only thing holding me back right now from installation.
