What gears do you think I have?
I looked in the stickys and went for a ride to see what gears I have.
The results are a bit different from what the sticky says.
"Stock Gear Ratios:
M6: 3.42
A4 Standard: 2.73 (GU2 code on the door sticker)
A4 Performance Axel: 3.23 (GU5 code on the door sticker)
WS6 and SS models came with 3.23s.
Your A4 did not come with 3.42s.
If your sticker is gone you tell which gears you have by your highway rpms:
3.23s @ 2000 rpm = 67 mph; 2.73s @ 2000 rpm = 80 mph
3.15s were available in A4 Vettes"
My Results
I do have a GU2 sticker on the door. I bought the car used.
67mph rpm @ 1900
75mph rpm @ 2100
This was cruising with a stock converter locked and in OD.
I double checked my speed with gps. My wheels are 17" with 315/35 tire.
The results are a bit different from what the sticky says.

The best way to tell for sure is to jack up the rear of the car. Put the tranny in Neutral and spin one of the rear wheels one complete turn. As you do this watch the driveshaft and how many times it spins. If it spins 3 1/4 times then you have 3.23. If it spins 2 3/4 times then you have 2.73 and so on.

2.73 x .7 x 336 x 70mph / 25.7" = 1,748rpm
3.23 x .7 x 336 x 70mph / 25.7" = 2,069rpm
At 70mph my rpm is right around 1,900-2,000rpm

Only jack one tire off the ground if you do it. Don't have both up, it will throw the count off.
I did this a couple weeks ago and had to lower the other rear tire to get the result.
