My mechanic buddy runs a Dana 60 in his third gen,
BBC+8-71+jug on slicks with a tubbed, 4-link type
setup. The only thing bad that's happened so far is,
he spun a tube. So he got some kind of sewer pipe
looking tubing and beefed it up. Nothing inside broke.
He's running either high 9s or low 10s, depending on
the setup (has 3 BBCs of different config and seems
to swap them back and forth out of boredom).

Whether the same toughness on a torque-arm setup,
dunno.

yeah i know the fab 9 is a great rearend as well its all what the person prefers because i hear the s60 is damn good too, 35 spline diff and axles should take a hell of a beating but hell so should the fabbed 9 inch as well. all bad *** rear ends.
