i just wanted to add a question with the OP's. I know a majority of the guys on here are running between a 26"-28" tire with mostly 4:10's. How do you determine what's best for your setup? i know the ideal is to get as close to the top of 4th when your cross the 1/4. is it trial and error with horspower to see where your at?

not trying to highjack the thread but I have a 98 M6 and mostly just do 1/8th mile track times and was wondering if the 4:10's would be right for me? I'm pretty sure I will have to bang 4th gear before I cross the 1/8th and was wondering if that would help me or hurt me.

Thanx for all the input guys, Ya I think I will be going with a 4.10 they sound good. I was just a lil worried about gas mileage but the way it sounds it doesn't make a huge difference so that will be the route that I shall take! Thanx again for all the input!

you'll love it man, i get the same if not better gas mileage with 4.11s because i can drive through the city in 6th gear at 1500 rpms. with stock gears, i had to keep it in 5th at almost 2000rpms at about 50mph i think (been so long since my speedometer has been correct, i have to guess speeds). it's really not the best on the highway but that's why i bought a beater that gets almost 60mpg.
