spool...posi...locker??
i don't know much about rear-ends i know that a spool is basically a solild axle all the time.... i got a 400ci motor build trans and all getting ready for a rear-end now. I do see track time about once a month or less. Looking for 3.91 or 4.10s but wondering if i should go posi or locker? Any advice would be useful. Thanks

Yea i should have stated that i wasn't going to go with a spool. sorry but what about the difference between a posi and a locker? Posi uses clutches and locker gears... ? What about types of each, i want to be able to drive the car on the street but also put slicks on it and rip through the gears on/off the track. M6 btw... Thanks for the replys

I have seen some problems with a locker with manual transmissions. Sometimes the extra drivetrain slop that is inherit with a locker causes the manual transmission and part throttle to want to grind when going into gear. At wide open throttle it is not a problem, but it can be at part throttle.
I feel that at this time the Wavetrac seems like the route to go. I have the differences about the different diffs listed at this link. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com....html?item=145 Bob

i went with 35 spline axles and detroit locker back in 2005. after hudreds of passes the last 4 seasons and over 15,000 miles on the street, the only thing i have done to this rear is change the oil and 3rd member gasket once. the locker takes some gettin used to but its def better then a spool on the street especially with a m6 car.
