since 95s' were available with either 3 channel ABS or 4 channel ABS & traction control, make sure you get an equivalent one.If you don't,the direct easy bolt-in swap won't occur.

Your brakes will not swap over so be prepared to convert to the newer style rear brakes.

you dont have to swap to the ls1 style rear brakes. all you have to do to keep your lt1 brakes is pull the axles and swap backing plates

^ True, But by the time you do that it would be easier to upgrade and have a better parking brake.

but if he runs drag rims there are some that will not clear ls1 brakes but will clear lt1. I dont know what it takes to swap e brake types but i know that if you plan on checking the rear gears (pulling the cover) its only like 10 minutes extra to swap backing plates

As long as he keeps his LT1 Calipers & Plates it will work out. I'm working on putting LT1 rear Calpers on a LS1 car for someone. I'm hoping the LS Ebrake Cable ends will work with the LT Calipers.

Do you have 3 or 4 channel abs? If you have 4 and the car you are getting the axle out of has 3 then you will need to grind a bit out of the flanges to clear plug for the ring pickups. If you have 3 and the other car has 4 then it won't have the center ring in between the carrier and the ring gear or the hole in the case for a sensor. Post more info, I've been through this.

What broke on your old rear? You could use your old housing and gear set and keep abs if that's not what broke.
FYI - An easy way to know if you have 3 or 4 channel ABS is to take one of your back wheels and brake rotor off and see if you have a reluctor ring behind your axle flange. If you do then you have 4 channel and if not then you have 3.
