I like the 9in. They are stronger, easier to service and change gears vs the 12 bolt. You don't have c-clips or c-clip eliminators to deal with, and the other nice thing is that the torque arm bolts are a through style versus screwing into the housing. Its stronger this way and passes NHRA tech.

You don't want to mess with trying to modify the UMI torque arm to make it work with the Moser M9 (fabricated rear for those reading this who think we're talking about the standard Moser nine inch) The M9's torque arm is an excellent chromoly torque arm that you will be impressed with. You shouldn't have any problems selling your UMI torque arm. Bob

The M9 says it includes a new transmission crossmember, so I guess that eliminates the need for the UMI torque arm relocation as well. Does the tranny crossmember it comes with take the torque arm off the tranny just like the UMI piece?

Yes I know how old this thread is. I was looking at your link and tried to build a 9 inch rear end but it only allows for 4 channel how come not a 3 channel. I read it was only allowed with the iron center. How would I select that option.

We can do a 3 channel but you have to have a center section set up for a 3 channel from Moser. They do some machining to make work for the exciter ring that they add to the center section. Thanks. Bob

I can setup any 9" rearend for the 3ch ABS system, with any center section and any diff unit. I even offer retrofit kits for the people that didn't have that option offered to them when they purchased a 9" from other manufacturers.

The Strange 12 bolt and S60 will both work with the factory or any aftermarket torque arm designed to be bolted on like the factory type.
