Default Well trac-loc was opening up today. Need a new diff and best 9" pinion seal

Old power managed a 1.54 60'. Today only had right wheel peel. Got a 1.68 60' best. Water guy backed me up twice once but still one wheel.

Also I noticed last time when I had it in the pinion seal on the 9" is leaking. What is hands down the best to put in?

I think I want to try a locker or spool. Something that for sure will go more than a year or two of two wheel peel!

If you don't really drive on the street then a spool sounds like your best bet.

The spool on the street is not for everyone but I will take it everytime! It does require some reserve in inclement weather and sometimes makes You try twice to get in a parking space. This is my experience in Kansas but we have few hills here, if there is two hills together and three or more trees they make it a State park LOL.

Bob from Brute Speed wrote an interesting bit about streeting a spool, I will try to find it.

I have some good news. I bought my third from tj in pa. I phoned him today and although it's a year old he gave options. Glad I went fairly local so I can take it in

Basically something could have went or the clutches are gone. He wants to go through it and see by bench testing it.

My choices are fix it or $100
swap to a locker. He said the only difference in a soft locker is a weaker spring.
You still get clunk and he
says the locket isn't very streetable yet something says just do it? Thoughts?

I've got a diff for sale. spool, 456s, 35 spline. PM me if interested.

Spool isn't hard to drive on the street. I did it just fine. I am just getting out of the hardcore drag racing and just using the car and a nice weekend cruiser and to take on trips. I don't think taking a spool to CO is a good idea lol.

Yea I don't have 35 spline axles either. Depending on what he says or finds I may just let him Locker it while it is there. I loved the clutches but if they need freshened once a year no more track and street duty than I do then not for me.

you can easily replace the clutch set in the unit and go again... it really isn't that bad of a job to do. if you need the service parts let me know, or we can set you up with a locker if that's the way you want to go also. we should have all the parts in stock for whatever you decide.

If it is a manual transmission then I would stay away from a locker. A locker can make it hard to shift a manual at part throttle and it can make the rear tend to wander around. Bob

It's an auto. Are any locker users reading this? If it isn't too bad and will go long periods of two wheel peel it's for me.

He did say you can destroy a locker if you don't give it a revolution after the burnout
