I agree with this. You see posts like "get a 9" or an S60, because the 10 bolts sucks" all day long. If he's just driving it on the highway with stock or close to stock power, and not abusing the car, why bother with an expensive rear, especially if that aftermarket rear comes with clearance issues, forces you to use rod end equipped torque arms, or develops gear noise, all free of charge.

chances are the original rear exploded and the guy got one from a salvage yard and they sold one from a v6 car.........it happens........i have a rear out of a 3rd gen v6 car in mine mow.......lol.....but i have the torsen carrier and 3.73 and moser axles........

I bought the car to be a weekend toy, I have my Audi A4 for the daily crap. Yes the car will go to the track but once in a blue moon. If the 10 bolt gives up later down the road I have no problem throwing in a 12 bolt but when someone else is offering up a rear end for FREE you take what they offer.. I actually asked if I could just take the 800 bucks instead of the rear end and they were pretty firm with their answer,.. NO! So I took a nice shiney 10 with 3:42 gears. The way I look at it is that I got a gear upgrade for free, no matter how long it lasts

10 bolts will go at some point but they can also last lond time. Mine has 150k miles on it, and for the last 30k miles its has 380+ RWHP going though it, and its been abused for most of this 30k miles and also before the heads and cam swap. Never seen the dragstip though with slick tyres so I guess thats helped.
