Trutrac - 4k miles - BUSTED - Anyone considering a 9" read this !
Before ordering the manufacture confirmed that the Trutrac and 31 spline axles was rated for 650 NA RWHP... I have 478rwhp, my initial goal was 450, there's still a buffer before 650, first issues were experienced under 466rwhp. Manufacture refuses to warranty, did offer to rebuild at my expense and i cover shipping third member back to Indiana both ways, plus new axles... I'll pass.
Here's the run down.
Dec 2010 I experienced some popping noises at the end of the track, ran the car in Jan 2011, 3 passes, never heard the sound again. At that time total of 12 passes 466/446 at the rear wheels. Manufacture was contacted and said it shouldn't be, not enough horse power. Basically GFY, we'll sell you a spool and axle packate if you are worried !!!

Sept 30 2011, after the car sat for 7 months while I was gone... I got the "pop corn" sound coming from the rear of the car, turns out, I now have an open differential. 478/455 at the rear wheels now. Trutrac is toast !
I have a feeling there's something up with the driver side axle as well... which at this point doesn't matter because as a bonus, the trutrac has the axles cut different, so you can't even reuse them and go to a eaton or spool, I get the pleasure to buy axles too I'm told, and bearings, and the little wheel things for the ABS too.
I won't openly bash the manufacture or their customer service in this thread/forum as that's LS1tech policy to protect the sponsors.

The tru-trac that is in the 12 bolt and 9" is not the same "tru-trac" thats in the S60. Strange found out that the tru-trac's design was incapable of holding a lot of power so they came up with the S-trac which is a clutch-less posi unit. When you see the tru-trac for the S60 it is most likely the S-trac but you can still get the "tru-trac" (same as the 12 bolt and 9") for them.
