I know how you feel man. Don't get me wrong i love my 9, but moser messed up on my axles when I ordered my rear also. They sent me the right bolt pattern but the wrong studs. They told me that they put mopar studs in..WTF.. There mess up cost me over 200 dollars and a rim. They did replace the axles, but with all the crap I went thru for that. I don't feel that it was enough. I don't think I will ever order from them again.

Mine take's 400+whp everyday with hard driving. This is with an auto, 3600 stall, but on street tires. Semi soft 285's. 10 bolts can take power, just as long as there isn't traction. It is set up perfect but has probably loosened up a bit.

What's the diameter and width of those? I ask because of this: https://ls1tech.com/forums/wheels-ti...s-picture.html My 95 has Hoosier 17603QTP 28 by 11.50's and they fit.

Drove my 73 Nova today with sport truck 33 X 10.50's on it. From a roll in second gear it goes up in smoke like it's in water. Can't find any street tires that will work on it.

Overall diameter 25.63, Overall width 12.56 Recomended rim width 10.5-(11.0)-12.5. These are supose to be a summer high performance tire. I know the Sumitomos are garbage. My buddy has some 275 17's on his car and it feels like its on ice when they break loose. No matter what the wheather is.

They feel very soft, like I can dig my finger nails into them, I think they are going to hook pretty good.

maybe sell the 9in and buy a 12 bolt, I picked up my Moser 12 bolt used for only 1400 (fully assembled too) and it does have a whine , but it's not that noticable over the sound of a camed and supercharged LS1 with headers and exhaust. I'm very very happy with my decesion when I swapped from my 10 to a 12bolt.

I may just keep the danm thing, I love the way the car feels with it in there, I like the added weight. The rear just plants itself to the ground, and the car feels like it hooks better and wants to go straight versus, all over the road like it does with the 10 bolt in there. I bet it would really feel good with these wheels on it. If the gear in there now still looks good, then its just a noisy gear. I may try the Motive Blue box street gear, everyone talks **** on them, but I have heard they run quieter. I think I have figured out that if the box says, Performace or Competition on it that is the manufacturers way of telling you that its going to make some gear noise. I have also heard the Ford Racing gears are quiet, but the only place I can find that has them is Randy's Ring and Pinion and they are $400.00 for a 4.00 ratio.

Ive had the same or worse luck than you with my Moser. i got mine used though. the gears are ungodly loud, and its on its third set of gears. set up by a VERY reputable shop here. i would be fully satisfied with it if it were just quiet. i know its strong and wont shatter like my 10 bolt did.

This is nuts. If the rear end was set up right it would not be "ungodly loud." Reputable or not I suggest you find a different shop. 9" Fords are VERY easy to get right.

Al 62 Chevy II narrowed 9", 73 Nova narrowed 9", 86 Mustang All Aluminum 9".

I agree that a gear pattern is easy to set up for the most part. but a good pattern does not guarantee a quiet rear end necessarily. i base that on my experience in the parts and service business. my gears are richmonds in 4.11, which have a rep for being noisy from what i read. that being said, im thinking of getting a new U.S gear set this spring and having it set up again, either by myself, or at another shop. im told that brand is good quality as well as typically quiet.

I have the U.S./Strange Gear and they are loud as hell. Perfect pattern.

You're right. Pinion preload and carrier preload are very important. For what you're going through you could buy a set up nodular case and be money ahead.

You can change your driving habits and make a 10 bolt hold a while with an M6... just sayin. I beat on mine with a trutrac and 4.10's but it's been rebuilt from scratch and set up to handle hard driving and I'm on 15" nitto dr's. Now granted I don't go dropping the clutch at 4k or anything, but I think with some stronger parts and a good build they aren't as fragile as people say on here.
