I have stock ls1 rear end, i have 4.10s to go in, 437whp, on bfg DRs 295s... some may not think that its a good idea cause my rear end will blow the **** up, but i heard if you replace the bearings and **** itll help

I was running roughly the same power as you on my stocker 10 bolt with 4.10 ratio.I ran on it for several years. The instant that thing saw a hint of actual hooking at the track, actual ring and pinion broke. If you wont really ever hook, a couple hundred bucks might not hurt for now. no more than that though. if youre gonna spend more, get something beefier. im sure that will be the general consensus as well. youll get away with it on the street for a while anyhow....

yea thats all i want, not too sure why i did go with DRs, but hey they were only 80 bucks more than street tires...

i dont know if im gonna take it to the track or not., if i do, i dont plan on launching it hard, maybe a couple ft roll out if anything. but that IS the right kit?

im assuming so. as long as you have a 98-02 stock rear.

alright, and replacing/refreshing the bearings can help out with the strength, correct?

Its my opinion that it doesnt make it necessarily stronger. youre just putting in new bearings in comparison with your old ones. If the old ones are in good shape and structurally sound, they wont be any weaker than your new ones really. Its not like youre putting in a bigger diameter and higher load-bearing bearing. but youlll be there anyway, so why not new bearings while youre in there?

Make sure to get a Ratech solid pinion spacer to replace the crush sleeve also. With the 10 bolt every little bit helps.

would you be able to send me a link to that part from the site? seeing as i have no ****** clue what it is haha. id like to stay away from the rear end and just get a buddy of mine to do it (mech), so if i bought this pinion spacer hed know what to do with it?

what they said lol. Get the bearing kit and either get the tools and time to learn to do it (valuable skill) or pay a good shop to do it. I learned how to set it up on my mustang which imo is much easier than the 10 bolts lol its not overly hard but you need the right tools and measure every step of the way because the new bearings will change tolerances. also as sadid the bearing won't make the rear stronger but it will help quiet things down and lessen the chance of a an old bearing breaking apart

alright thanks a lot guys.. dont have time to do it myself, and im sure my buddy will know what hes doing, im just making sure its nothing specific to our rear ends or anything haha...

so i just bought the install kit i posted, i bought whatever was in that link you sent me :p and i also bought a panhard bar (just lowered the car).... thanks again guys

Yes fresh ten bolts last longer then old worn out ones. Bearings develope play over the years and things start moving around in there under load. Fresh bearings help this.
