Moser 9" Installed - Initial thoughts....
Quiet, solid.
Also installed on the car, SPEC III clutch, Heavy Duty Driveshaft, BMR Extreme Sway Bar.
I was running around on a stock ZO6 clutch, stock DS and 4.10's in the stock 10 bolt. That setup had tons of slack and slop in it. The new setup is tight, with immediate power delivery and no slack in it at all. Touch the gas and the Nittos spin.
For those considering the 9" over a 12 bolt, do it!
Here's a pic....
The BMR is a monster of a sway bar. There's a little banging going on, I haven't figured out exactly where it's coming from. But as for it's streetability, it not bad at all.

What length ds did you go with, was it standard length? Do you feel any power loss with the 9"?
Thanks
I really haven't hammered through the gears really hard just yet, still breaking in the clutch. The power delivery is instantaneous though, with no slack, but I can't comment on the seat of pants power loss till I row through all the gears at 100%.

I did have to hunt down some axle bearings and bearing plates 'cause the seller stiffed me on those (I made the mistake of not making clear exactly what he meant by "everything's included"
).If I could do it again, I'd get a new one from Moser or Strange.
The disadvantage is that the 9" weighs 30 pounds more, but the advantage is that one could service the rear end by removing the gear and differential as a unit, to be worked on a table, instead of having to set up gears on a lift. Theoretically, one could have setups for 2.73's, 3.73s, 4.10's, 4.30's in a plug and play method (not that I would be doing this, but you can see why racing stock cars use a 9").
Other than that, I've read and know of 12 bolts breaking (happened to my buddy with his '98 SS on a Moser 12 bolt, and haven't read of a 9" breaking yet).
