If you do run slicks on the 10 bolt you better have a flatbed on standby to get home if you're a M6.

There's a reason GM put such weak *** gearing in these cars (3.23s and 3.42s).

It's a serious risk no matter how u cut it. It took a cam gears an SS4000 and Hoosier slicks for me but I've seen them go with less persuasion!

I've known guys running slicks with factory differentials (zexel torsen) and he didn't grenade it. He had 3.23 gears. Auto of course. He ran high 11's with a 4500 stall, an aftermarket tq arm, long tube headers and all the free mods. Definitely higher risk with lower gears.

I ran 11s with my m6 on Mickey Thompson slicks a bunch of times on my current 10 bolt with 4:11 gears. With drag radials it grenaded twice. With a wrinkle wall slick it gives you a little give and is easier on the diff in my experience. But it is still a risk of breaking it regardless. That’s just my experience

Oh Jesus Christ.
It's staggering to see how many people think that as soon as you put the gear selector in "drive", your 10 bolt is gonna grenade and send shrapnel thru the floorboards, across the street, as well as the adjoining parking lot cutting down scores of innocent bystanders.
To the OP.
Yes. YOU CAN run slicks on your car, and you will be just fine.

You can run slicks on a 10 bolt, you can drive a car with your feet, and you can light a fart with a cattle prod, but i don't recommend any of those things.

Ran ET Streets, ET Drag Radials for 11 years, Dead hooking with 60's in the range from 1.56 - 1.79's with an Auburn Posi & 3.42's,(Auto Trans) No other upgrades to it. It finally broke a month ago. I don't know how many passes I had on it, I would estimate 300-400+.

With the few mods you have, why risk it? Especially if you have 2.73 gears....If you had a stall I'd see a good reason to run a sticky tire. Just use a street tire. You may not be able to run slicks with the stock c-clipped axles anyways. Depends on the track.

I have a 420 WHP engine and a 6 speeder and have been running a 411 7.5 for 3 years. Granted it is a weekend worrier with very little 1320 runs. But the 7.5 is weak but when set up properly they can last. I am going to say with a slush box you will be fine.
