Default Cannot get bolt loose on differential

I cannot remove the large pin in the differential that is in between the axles!!
It will not budge, have tried impact driver and it won't budge.

Any ideas, tricks to get it out, or am I screwed????

Thanks

a pic of what large pin would be helpful.
pic appears to be a torsen 'posi' from a 99-02 f-bod.

Default Retaining pin

It's the bolt that that holds the retainer in between the axle ends.

If I'm not mistaken, it takes a 7mm wrench. I use a Snap-On 6 point box end wrench, and whack it with a BFH. A couple of times I've had to take them out using a chisel to get the bolt to break loose.

It is a Torsen posi from a 2001. I have tried using an impact with socket and BFH to no avail. I'm assuming it is standard RH threads???
Chisel is last resort, afraid I might cut head off bolt. Could be drilled and use ease out? Would hate to replace whole thing. Inner bearings were galled pretty bad on driver side. Axle unharmed.

Place a punch (or equivalent tool) straight-on (as straight as possible in the limited confine) on the bolt head and give it a sharp whack with a hammer... and then try loosening it with a 6-point boxend as said above.

Straight down or on side of bolt?

A little heat beforehand may help also.

Thanks everyone!
Some heat and striking force straight down on the bolt FREEDED it.

No on to getting the bearings replaced!

New bolt NOT available, made new one with a 5/16-18 bolt. Put nut on ground threads off up to nut, ground end off to make proper length. Fits like a glove.

Nobody around here can press bearings, so, I took deemed and carefully cut old bearings off. Used old inner race to "press" new bearings on. Uncle Sam taught me some great ways to improvise as a USMC mechanic.

Now to tackle outer bearings and seals.

Good work, I often cut the carrier bearings off as well.
